You all know the feeling of that day, when it is hot and you sun with your friends at the beach. Snap a picture, and share this on Facebook and twitter. More important, how can you upload it in the most beautiful way. Yes, therefore we have the app Instagram. You easily put a filter on the photo, change it or crop it a little bit and post it. But maybe a smarter option is to advertise at Instagram about your products, by posting photo’s. Like the old saying, one picture says more than thousand words.
In April 2012, Facebook acquired Instagram. Instagram is an free app, with 80 million 
users where you can share your photos with friends and family. This means it can be a good social media to advertise at it. When Facebook acquired Instagram, they give expanded with more features, so the sharing will be easier and better for the marketers. Like an ‘explore’ tab and an online website, where you can find you photos back etc.
You can share now photos about all your products, the process, go behind the scenes, show what your products can do, sneak peeks, show your office, shoot everything and keep your followers updated about your company, introduces your employees. To many to mention.So Instagram is continuous developing application and very suitable for marketing.
Examples of Marketing at Instagram
First of all, Instagram followed the pattern of twitter to use hash tags. This is a very clever tool to organize and find photos about your products. I’m also an Instagram user and at one day I posted a photo of my delicious Starbucks frappuchino. After one d
ay I received a post back from the user Starbucksrene, with the comment: “Starbucks vs Dunkin? Who’s the best? vote & win now funtovote.com. He had found me, because of my hashtags #starbucks and #Frappuccino. For marketers this can be an example to contact their target audience. With building a personal relationship, the consumer will be more loyal to your product.
Examples of Marketing at Instagram
A few examples of marketing at Instagram are the companies Starbucks, Red Bull, Marc Jacobs, Tiffany and Co, Levi’s, Playboy, Puma etc. They understand marketing at Instagram. For example Starbucks nowadays have 200,000 followers. They make photos about everything related to their company. They also share the Instagram photos with Facebook, so then the photo reached two social media. 
Another example is Puma, they post also photos, where Puma shoes can bring you. They give influencing-instagrammers (100.000+ followers) tickets to awesome events and take pictures. Puma its
elf, does not have many followers. So by giving away the tickets, a lot of people did see the pictures of those events. I saw the same thing at the someone I follow at Instagram. She had got a free ticket to Oslo, from a hotel company. When she was there, she posted a lot of pictures about Oslo. This is good publicity for that company.
It might be clear that Instagram is a good social media for marketers. It can be used by every company and person to share photos, but then on a more convenient way. Beneath is also a video about Instagram.
